Our Teaching Philosophy
St. Michael’s Preschool uses Creative STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) Curriculum to engage each child. Through centers, projects and direct teaching the curriculum covers science, technology, engineering, arts, music and mathematics. Our curriculum includes building blocks, dramatic play, toys and games, art, library, discovery, sensory, and computer. We additionally provide American Sign Language (infant – Two’s), Music & Movement, and Chapel & Bible lessons are incorporated into our schedules along with additional enrichments.
We implement weekly curriculum themes that include an array of daily topics that allow children to build vocabulary and experiences which help develop early literacy skills. The topics capture the creativity of each child.
Each child will be assessed throughout each academic year. These assessments gather and provide parents and teachers information about a child’s development and growth. Infants – Fours are assessed two times a year, with the opportunity for parents to conference with teachers.
